The Whitney Young Early Childhood School was originally constructed in 1971 and had not received any updates or renovation since.
A security vestibule was added, along with minor renovations to relocate the office. A new media center was created, restrooms were added to all Pre-K classrooms, and finish upgrades were made to various areas.
